We are Widnes Model Centre!
Established in April 2011 as a family venture, our roots trace back to our first shop at 49-51 Widnes Road.
In June 2015, we expanded into a larger, more vibrant space across the road enabling us to curate a hobby store that provided a more extensive choice of modelling supplies.
Meet our Team who are Barry, Gill and Tom.
Ask for the most outlandish strange and rare model item Barry will find it. He is also a great knowledge on Scalextric and Railway modelling.
Gill … makes the tea but has her uses when it comes to matching paint colours and knowing her plastic kits.
Tom is our Radio Control and Technical Advisor and along with Peter who voluntarily provides his own time at weekends both guys freely support and advise on Radio Control and Modelling skills to customers.

I’ve recently been in touch with the guys at this business enquiring about the products that they stock. Had prompt replies from Tom and Barry and they ended up setting aside a certain model kit for me.
I called in to collect this today and had chance to chat with the guys and must say it’s great to talk to someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.
I will definitely be using this fantastic outlet in the future and keeping an eye on incoming products they’re going to be stocking!

Went into Widnes today in the hope of some advice for a good hardy RC car for our 13 year old son.
We explained what we were looking for and Tom was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and gave us some great advice about the RC models they sell; longevity, batter life, maintenance, how to oil them, how they're made, if they can take a beating plus many other great bits of advice. It's nice knowing that if we ever need help we can call and/or go in store.

Took in my R/C tank for repair. Even though they hadn’t repaired one before, they took it on and even contacted the manufacturer for advice. They repaired one issue successfully but could not resolve the other problem as the required part was no longer available.
Throughout the process, nothing was too much trouble for them, and they kept me informed throughout. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, and great value for money.peter sass

What a great place! Has everything you want. I ordered an R/C car in February and they did as they said and called me when it came into stock. Tom there is very knowledgeable and very helpful. I will definitely be shopping here again and telling all my friends about this store.

Great model shop. I went to look at the railway section but the airfix kits and RC cars are also excellent. Came away with a nice gaugemadter kit to build at a good sale price. Will go again even though 45 minutes from home

Took my grandson before Christmas we've completed two tanks we've got two planes to do and then the D day landing beach. Its a great shop and I know I can ask for advice from skilled staff. Brilliant hobby for kids not only does it develop practical skills but re-enforces the history of each project while they escape the play station for an hour or two.

Incredible shop! Not many places like this anymore, what a way to bring out the big kid in you. Went in looking for an RC car and the staff members were so helpful.
